The Crew

Behind the Reviews

My professional life is spent in the quiet, high-stakes world of the operating room. From medical school at the University of Illinois to my training at Harvard’s Massachusetts General Hospital, my career has been defined by precision and a deep-seated need to understand how complex systems work.

But I’ve always found that my best thinking happens when I’m walking eighteen holes.

There is a specific kind of solitude on the golf course that I’ve come to crave. It’s where the noise of a busy medical practice fades away, leaving room for the creativity of the game to take over. I don’t just see a bunker; I see the architect’s attempt to bait me into a risky line. I don’t just see a green; I see a strategic puzzle carved into the New England landscape.

Whether I’m playing a local muni or a storied Top 100 layout, I’m always hunting for those “hidden gems”—the subtle design features that reward a thoughtful approach over raw power. To me, the game is a perfect blend of logic and imagination, and I founded this website to share that “why” with fellow golfers who love the walk as much as I do.

Beyond the Back Nine

When the scrubs are off and the clubs are in the trunk, my world revolves around my family here in Fairfield. I’m married to the amazing Dr. Deena Kuruvilla and we’re kept moving by our two children.

Off the course, you might find me playing Halo, staying active in the gym, or in my workshop tinkering with new tools designed to help golfers see the game a little more clearly.

Let’s Walk a Round

I believe golf is a social craft. One of the greatest rewards of starting this site has been the conversations it sparks—with course historians, architects, and fellow “gear and grass” enthusiasts.

My mission is to walk and review every course in the Nutmeg State, and I’m always looking for a new perspective. If you have a favorite local layout with a story to tell, or if you just want to talk shop about course routing while we walk nine, I’d love to hear from you!
